Some things I’ve made

Evie Bond is now in the world, 4.5 months old now! so I thought I’d post up some pictures of her room and the things I’ve made for her.

Cot bumper, curtains, seat pad for chest, cushions.

I’m doing the Open Shop in Worthing again – selling beastie bunnies & christmas decorations, here’s a few on the go… (I’m afraid the one in the pink dots is not for sale)

Keeping busy…

I’ll be having a baby VERY soon, so have been busy sewing toys, quilts, cushions, curtains etc etc…. here’s the floppy bunny I made for baby Bond today – its such soft fabric, hopefully it’ll be a favourite!

I CAN’T WAIT!!!

Worthing Open Houses!!

It’s going to be a great event once again, now over three weekends – my creations are in venue 14 this time around (a venue specialising in recycled art) as I’ll be too busy having a baby to open my own house up!

June 18th, 19th, 25th, 26th & July 2nd, 3rd

Please check out the website – its looking good: worthingopenhouses.com

Puppet making

I’ve been asked to make a new ‘mascot’ type character for Brighton’s Latest 7 magazine and tv channel.

Mr Bond has kindly sketched a few ideas for me… I’ll be making a sesame street style puppet based on this orange fellow.

He’s called Mardival, he comes from another planet and will be sampling the latest gigs, shows etc around town. Giving interviews and generally being a funny guy (think someone will be writing a script for his own show if all goes well).

I’ll be posting my making progress on here – this is how he is developing so far:

Big blocks of foam. Cut, glued & stacked ready to carve Mardival’s head from.

Main body tube made from carpet! then a thick jersey layer stitched over it. Finally silver lycra to give a smooth finish.

Arms are soft to allow for movement (I may attach a pole to each elbow for puppet master to control). You will be able to put your arm up through the body to open and close the mouth.

So next time – the carving of the head…
